Tunnel Hill, GA
Northwest Whitfield High School had planned on celebrating their Senior Night with a victory for their outgoing Seniors, but the Allatoona Buccaneers (15-9, 5-7) certainly had different plans. After the Bruins jumped to an early 1-0 lead, the Bucs tied it up after a misplayed bunt and subsequent throwing error put Wes Joines in scoring position. Allatoona pushed across the tying run and then added one more to take a 2-1 advantage. NW Whitfield added a run to tie things up in the fifth inning but missed adding more on a blown squeeze play. The Bucs added the decisive run in the top of the 7th on a rbi single by pitcher Clate Schmidt which plated the winning run. Clate Schmidt, not only knocked in the winning run but went the distance in the contest and kept the Bruin hitters off-balance all evening.
The game was full of controversy througout the game but the Bucs would not stay down and let someone else decide the outcome. The squad will now await the arrival of cross-town foe, North Paulding, who will come to Allatoona on Tuesday 4/27/10 for a 5:55pm showdown.

The JV Bucs wrapped up their 2010 campaign with a 14-9 victory over the Sprayberry JV Yellow Jackets. The win gives the squad a 13-5 overall record.

The Allatoona Varsity Bucs (14-9, 4-7) traveled to Sprayberry to face the Jackets and with the hopes of staying in region playoff contention. The Jackets wasted no time letting Allatoona know that they had different thoughts as they put 3 runs up in the first 2 innings and cruised to a 10-0 win. The loss leaves the Bucs hoping to win out the final 3 region games and end with .500 region record. The team will travel on Friday to NW Whitfield for a 5:55pm contest.

The JV Bucs will take on the Sprayberry JV squad two times in this final week of the season. Game one went to the Bucs as they took the sting out of the Jackets and finished with a 14-6 victory. Harrison Rogers was the starter and David Schwartz came on to finish out the contest. The team returns to action tonight at home against Hiram at 5:55pm on Buccaneer Field. Thursday, Sprayberry will travel to Allatoona for the final game of the 2010 season at 5:55pm.

It took 9 innings but the Allatoona Buccaneers walked away with a 5-4 victory over region foe, Hiram. Lucas Brown pushed his season record to 7-0 and went the distance in the extra inning affair. Jack Morris stole the show at the plate going 5 for 5 with 3 infield bunts and game winning double in the left center gap. The win moves the Bucs to 14-8 on the season and pushed their region record to 4-6.
Allatoona will return to action on Wednesday with a visit to Sprayberry High School in a 5:55pm contest.
Acworth, GA
Allatoona (13-8, 3-6) hoped to build on their win over over Woodland but the visiting Cass Colonels had other plans. Cass jumped out to an early lead but the Bucs battled back to tie the game in the bottom half of the 5th. First baseman, Jason Johnston, provided a big boost with a 2 run homer, his first of the season. The Bucs had a chance to take the lead in the bottom half of the 6th with a squeeze play but the runner was called out at the plate on a bang-bang play. Allatoona never scored that inning and the Colonels used the top half of the 7th to produce 4 runs and extend their lead 10-6. This lead was too much for the Bucs and they dropped another critical region game. The squad will return to action on Monday hosting Hiram High School at 5:55pm.
Cartersville, GA
Allatoona traveled north on Wednesday evening for a match-up with the Woodland Wildcats, one of the leading teams in the region. Allatoona wasted no time jumping out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st and that was all sophomore Lucas Brown (6-0) needed as he held the Wildcats hitless until the bottom of the 6th. The Bucs used some small ball and took advantage of some Woodland errors to manufacture a few runs. However first baseman Nick Hall delivered the big blow with a 2 run homerun to dead center field to push the Buccaneer lead to 6-0. The Wildcats scored one in the bottom of the 6th but the Buccaneers got the run right back in the top of the 7th with a 2 out hit by Elliot Blakes. Michael Royal came in to close out the game and struck out 2 of the 3 Wildcat Batters. Allatoona (13-7, 3-5) finished the contest with a 7-1 victory. The team will return to action on Friday evening at Allatoona with another region game against Cass High at 7pm.
Marietta, GA
The Hillgrove Hawks wasted no time proving why they are one of the regions top teams by jumping to a early lead over the Allatoona Buccaneers and cruising to a 9-1 victory. The loss left the Varsity Bucs (12-7) on the season and (2-5) in region play. The team continues their region stretch with a trip Wednesday to Woodland High in Bartow.
The JV Bucs dropped their contest as well with the JV Hawks 5-1 at Buccaneer Field.
